1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using SpellForge ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Service Description

SpellForge is a fan-made web application that allows users to design custom Magic: The Gathering cards using manual design tools and AI-powered generation. The Service includes card design, deck box organization, community sharing, print export, and AI art generation features. SpellForge is provided "as is" for entertainment and creative purposes only.

3. Fan Content and Intellectual Property

SpellForge is unofficial Fan Content permitted under the Wizards of the Coast Fan Content Policy. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Wizards of the Coast, LLC ("WotC") or Hasbro, Inc.

  • Magic: The Gathering, including card names, card art, mana symbols, set symbols, card frames, and all related trademarks, are the property of Wizards of the Coast, LLC.
  • Card designs created on SpellForge are fan-made and are not official Magic: The Gathering products.
  • Cards created with SpellForge may not be sold or distributed as authentic Magic: The Gathering cards.
  • Users are responsible for ensuring their use of the Service complies with the Wizards of the Coast Fan Content Policy.

4. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to update it as needed. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

5. User-Generated Content

You retain ownership of the original creative elements in the card designs you create, subject to the intellectual property rights of Wizards of the Coast and other third parties. By making a deck box public, you grant SpellForge a non-exclusive license to display that content in the community gallery.

You agree not to create or share content that is illegal, infringing, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these terms.

6. AI-Generated Content

Card art and text generated through our AI features are produced by third-party AI services. AI-generated content may not be unique and may be similar to content generated for other users. We make no guarantees about the originality, accuracy, or suitability of AI-generated content. You are responsible for reviewing and ensuring any AI-generated content is appropriate before sharing publicly.

7. Credits and Payments

  • AI features require credits, which can be purchased through our Service.
  • All payments are processed securely through Stripe.
  • Credits are non-refundable once purchased, except as required by applicable law.
  • We reserve the right to change credit pricing at any time. Existing credit balances will not be affected by price changes.
  • Credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred between accounts.

8. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

  • Sell or distribute cards created with SpellForge as authentic Magic: The Gathering products
  • Use the Service to create counterfeit cards intended to deceive others
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or exploit the Service
  • Use automated tools to scrape or access the Service beyond normal use
  • Upload or generate content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes on third-party rights
  • Circumvent any access controls or usage limits

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SpellForge and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions of these terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, and limitations of liability.

12. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be effective when posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
